The Tsantali family is one of the oldest winemaking families in Greece. It was in 1890 in Northeastern Greece where the Tsantali family began to cultivate vineyards, produce wine and distill ouzo and tsipouro.
Evangelos Tsantalis laid the foundations, inspired the vision and defined the philosophy of the brand "TSANTALIS", although he was the second generation to be involved in the family business. His insight and instinct led to the erection of all infrastructures from the beginning with an extroverted orientation, a movement unprecedented for the time, in the 40's. The most important element for Evangelos Tsantalis was the quality of the vineyard. He was one of the pioneers who put bottled wine on the greek table and contributed greatly to the development of Greek winemaking inside and outside the country.
This unique story of more than 130 years unfolds in parallel with important events in the recent history of the country: starting from a refugee route that leads first to Serres and then to Thessaloniki, today the Tsantali family with respect for its precious heritage is its most important ambassador greek wine and distillery abroad with a presence in 55 countries. It maintains privately owned wineries: in Agios Pavlos of Halkidiki, in Rapsani of Olympus, in Metochi of Chromitsa of Mount Athos, in Naoussa of Macedonia and in Maronia of Thrace.
