Chamomile gets its name from the Greek words "χαμαί" (below) and "μήλο" which in ancient greek meant fruit.
Sources state that Ariston used it against all kinds of pain, Hippocrates used it as an emmenagogue against hysteria and Dioscorides against fever.
Chamomile contains many flavonoids and tannins that give it anti-inflammatory, anxiolytic and soothing properties.
A cup before bed helps fight insomnia, while also helping to reduce stress. It is also an ally in the treatment of colds, relieves bloating in the stomach, while compresses with chamomile decoction can relieve various dermatological problems (acne, irritations).
