In Greece, pastourma came through the Hellenism of Caesarea (hence pita of Caesarea) and Minor Asia. Nevertheless, we find that salted meat was also consumed in Byzantium.
Pastourma is a nice appetizer for ouzo or tsipouro, while you can use it to make pita of Caesarea, peinirli, pizza, eggs with pastourma and even a gourmet souvlaki!
