"Feneou Vanilla Beans" is a product of protected geographical indication (PGI) that has been systematically cultivated since the end of the 19th century in the area of Feneos, at the bottom of the old natural lake Doxa.
The long-term cultivation of this legume is due to the special quality characteristics that distinguish it, such as its very small size, white colour, oval shape and its high nutritional value. At the same time, their thin crust helps them to boil better and faster.
The local name "Vanilla" was given by the growers themselves to emphasize the white colour and the particularly sweet taste of the product that looks like vanilla.
These special quality characteristics differentiate it from other beans and make it sought after in the market.
