In the region of Corinthia, rich of its mythology, it is at an altitude of 900 meters high that local producers have passionately and for many generations produced Fava of Feneos, a variety of split peas under Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) .
The Feneos tray gives fava this characteristic yellow colour, the small size of the seed as well as a speed of cooking which gives this taste of terroir and this velvety texture. It is one of the favourite ingredients of the Mediterranean diet!
Taste the fava in dip with hot bread, breadsticks, vegetable sticks, aperitif , pitas, or mezze! Fava goes well with ouzo or tsipouro and is a delicious accompaniment of typical Greek dishes such as grilled octopus, smoked eel, sun-dried tomatoes, capers and caramelized onions ...

Fava is extremely rich in nutrients, necessary for the proper functioning of our body!
It is a good source of vitamin B1 (thiamine), iron, copper, phosphorus, potassium and magnesium. It is thanks to these elements that as part of a traditional Greek Mediterranean diet, it is not possible to lack such a nutrient.
Vitamin B1 is essential for the proper functioning of our nervous system and our metabolism, while iron is the key component of the protein which is largely responsible for the transport of oxygen to our blood.
In addition to their important nutritional value, fava beans also improve heart function. They are also high in dietary fiber - 1/4 cup of fava contains 9g of fiber. Eating foods high in fiber helps our body to significantly reduce bad cholesterol (LDL) levels.
About 1/4 cup of fava provides the body with 10 to 19% of the required amount of the above nutrients.
The whole process, from sowing to harvest, is done manually at Feneos.
Ecological means to disinfect them are applied, which makes any addition of pesticide useless and thus contributes to the improvement of the quality of the food of the consumers.
